Lamborghini Enters the World of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs)

Following a series of social media posts that hinted at it, Italian supercar maker Lamborghini finally revealed its NFT (non fungible token) Project. Space Key is a project that was created in collaboration with an unidentified artist and based on the latest carbon fiber composite materials that were sent to the International Space Station as research material, is a project which was announced by Lamborghini.

Italian supercar maker Lamborghini is dipping its toes into the world of non-fungible tokens (NFTs). The latest project, dubbed the Space Petron Key To Lamborghini, is a piece created in collaboration with a unknown artist. The NFT is an exclusive piece of digital art that is accessed through a QR code. The project is limited to five pieces and will be auctioned off in the coming weeks.

The Space Key is made of carbon composite material which Lamborghini as part of a research project in the year 2019, sent to the International Space Station. After it returned to Earth, the carbon fiber was transformed into this unique artwork. The physical object includes an NFT serial number that is linked to the digital art work via a QR code on the rear.

For those not in the aware, NFTs are unique identifiers that are recorded on a distributed blockchain ledger and tied to a digital asset, such as a photograph, video, music or other record. This allows owners to ensure the authenticity, scarcity and tracking of their tokens across the internet.

The physical element of Space Key

After multiple social media posts teasing something that was space-related, the Italian supercar manufacturer Lamborghini entered the world non-fungible (NFT) tokens with an exclusive project dubbed Space Key. The NFT was developed in collaboration with an unknown artist and will go on auction within a few weeks. It is a piece of high-tech carbon fiber composite material, which was sent to the International Space Station (ISS) in the year 2019 as part of an ongoing research project. The Space Key is a collection of five physical objects that allows you to access an exclusive digital work by a yet to be identified artist. The 'collectors piece' was created in collaboration with NFTPRO(tm) and is limited to five units. It will be auctioned off soon.

Each Space Key contains a block made of advanced carbon-fire composite material. It was sent to the International Space Station as part of a 2019 research program. After returning to Earth it was imprinted with the QR code which links it to the digital component of the Space Key.

Each of the five Space Keys will feature a separate moment that occurs a few seconds apart as the Lamborghini Ultimae lifts off toward the stars. Each of the five images was filmed by photographer Fabian Oefner and contains over 600 million pixels.

Oefner used an inflatable camera equipped with a lens to capture individual images, which were later combined into the final photo. The result is an amazing out of the world photograph that captures both the beauty of Earth and the futuristic, hyper-realistic look of the car key lamborghini rising from it. The Space Keys will be auctioned off soon, but the exact date and time of the auction haven't yet been set yet.
