How to Repair Bifold Door Top Roller Guide

If your bifold doors have become stuck, they probably require some maintenance. You may need to clean and lubricate them or adjust them. The problem could be caused by a loose bolt on the top pivot, or by the top guide roller.

Take the door off

It may appear complicated and difficult to set up the bifold internal doors however for those who are DIYers with some experience, it's actually quite easy. Moving the frame isn't the problem; the tricky part is getting the doors to fold and close smoothly and accurately. Since bifold doors are complicated machines, they could require some tuning to keep functioning properly. This could be as easy as tightening a screw or as complicated as removing the door and replacing the pivot pin or roller.

It is usually possible to fix these issues by making some minor adjustments without the need to take off the doors. You may find that your doors are sagging or scraping the floor, or that they are jumping out of their tracks.
